Film and dinner
With La Passion de Dodin Bouffant (2023, Trần Anh Hùn, the film is also known as Le pot-au-feu or The taste of things) it is simply impossible not to feel like eating. Every scene exudes the love and craftsmanship for French classic cuisine and the film is a romance and cooking course in one. We are in Dodin's impressive country house where he and his chef Eugénie (Juliette Binoche) prepare the most delicious dishes for friends. In the traditional kitchen without electricity and gas, turbot, vol-au-vent, pigeons and backs of veal are silently prepared, all filmed as living paintings that make you long for a sultry French summer in the country.
The film has a record number of 23 dishes, not all of which we serve for health reasons. A selection of eight courses has been made.
The film is French spoken and subtitled in Dutch. Special note for non Dutch (or French) speaking people: English subtitles can be added on request. Buy your ticket and add a note 'English please', and we will add English subtitles to the Dutch ones. English subtitles are available on request, these will be projected together with the Dutch subtitles.
